A Day In The Life Of A Player In Lockdown With Her Family

Lockdown now has become a hell of a ride for us adolescents. Why? Because it’s working as anxiety and lack of confidence booster. Taking it on me, I have realized a drift change in my personality. Starting from an extrovert to an ambivert and now an introvert. Well, these are the outcomes of being socially inactive. But thanks to my family being health freaks, I am sane.

I wake up between seven to half-past seven because first, it’s the most I can sleep (perks of being a morning person), and second, if I wake up after eight my father would probably terminate me from the family tree. The very first thing I come across in the morning after coming out of my room is my mother stretched on a yoga mat doing some yoga poses. While my father with my uncle is flexing on dumbbells.

Then there is this uncle of mine who is sleeping downstairs, he initially came in the city for a business trip for a week or so but now is stuck up here due to lockdown. Well, one can call him the miscellaneously omitted person of the house as he is just another dude vexed up with this lockdown concept and has already plotted umpteenth ways to kill Mr. Prime Minister unlike the rest of the family members. You can’t blame him though, he just wants to run back to his city and get to his family.

I wash up till eight or something and get on the treadmill after a bit of stretching by a rough quarter past eight. Well, what’s best than twenty-minute jogging as a warm-up. After the warm-up, I flex my shoulders using theraband and then I hit the floor with my Bow. After more than an hour of Bow Drawing, I am off the workout stage.

Going back in the main hall I am met with my lazy twit of a brother, sprawled on the couch like a sloth. This lil brat of mine doesn’t believe in torturing (work out) his body but he still has to do with my uncle cause it’s just another unspoken (Work out) rule of the house.

By half-past ten we all are done with our breakfast of oats and tofu cause protein is necessary after workout. And this time my second uncle too is present because the sleeping beauty is finally awake and on top of that the beauty is hungry. Till twelve we have done all house chores with us being done with our baths too. And so we proceed toward our launch. From here the real fun begins. With me being on computer, my lil brat on laptop, both my uncles on their phones while my parents on T.V with their “The Family Man” type of series running on it. One can be amazed by the versatility or with my humble self, the duality of this family. From health freaks to lazy pirates with only one motto of waiting time is really fascinating.

After having my lunch I study for two hours and then I decide to sleep. And not going to lie it takes me more than half an hour to slip into my dreamland. And let’s just say an hour of sleep is more than enough.

I wake up at a rough half-past four and wash up before joining my family in the hall. Now this time is the meeting time of the family. A cup of tea with some snacks and news running on T.V. in the background at mute. Oh! And not to forget my second uncle cursing at our Prime Minister yet again. After an hour of meeting with no conclusion and little gossips, we are off the meeting room leave for the terrace to have some fresh air.

Terrace, my mother’s favorite place at our home. She is just obsessed with it. “The beautiful weather with the sooting winds breezing around makes me feel refresh and calm” her words not mine.

At this time we are divided into subunits with my parents talking while walking and me with both of my uncles and of course, my lil brat playing with a ball.

After spending more than an hour on the terrace we come down leaving both my uncles there. It’s not really leaving but they want to be left alone. It’s their virtual family gets together time as they both are married and have children who right now are not in the same city as them. After coming down my mother leaves for the kitchen to prepare our dinner. And I with my lil brat sit on our respective study table and study. By the time we both leave our room, the rest of the family members have already done their dinner and are just sitting in front of T.V. My mother serves me and my Lil brat dinner. And both my uncles leave to have their movie party downstairs.

For dinner again, I sit in front of my computer, but this time, my parents join me as we all watch “Mahabharata”. Mahabharata! God this thing has both me and my father whipped. We both have completed the whole “Pirates of the Carrabin” series and I am a big fan of MCU but nothing can compete with this epic story. Like dude, my father has watched, read, heard, and what not to this story but every time he encounters with it, he just gets lost in it as if he doesn’t know the whole story already and can re-watch it again and again despite its lengthy plot. In short we both father and daughter duo is highly obsessed with it. After watching some episodes we are off to bed but not before I help my mother in the kitchen.

And yet again, it takes me more than just half-hour to sleep. Only to wake up and repeat the same cycle.

In all this critical situation that is taking place in the world out there, I am thankful to the all mighty that I am not one of those loners who are alone in their apartment away from their family and are at the brink of their sanity. I have my family here with me to keep me all sane and together.
